Run by music educators in the Bellingham Public Schools, BYC is an independent, nonprofit organization that provides extracurricular opportunities for middle-grade students to experience singing choral music in an ensemble prior to high school. The program fosters an interscholastic choral community by drawing from multiple schools across the greater Bellingham area, as well as provides opportunities for students to get to know each other and work together as a performance team. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where students of all identities and backgrounds can feel at home and shine in developing their musical talents!

 

BYC is designed to bridge the gap in public school music education during the middle school years. We are not a substitute for music education in school, but a supplement for students to deepen their music education. We expect our students will also be enrolled in music classes that may be offered in their home schools!
